Use the button below or call 931-526-2126 and the police department will check on participants once a day who register for the Call Check program. This program is available to City of Cookeville residents who are 65 years of age or older. Every day a telephone call will be placed to a participant at a regularly scheduled time. These calls will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. If the participant does not answer their first call, they will be tried two more times. If those calls go unanswered, additional calls will be made to notify an alternative person who is selected by the participant during program enrollment. This could be an adult child, a neighbor, or another loved one. The alternate will then be encouraged to check on the program participant. The failure of the participant and alternate to answer may result in a welfare check by the police department.
We’ve said all along to Please listen, follow the directives, take personal responsibility, heed the guidance from experts, and Use COMMON SENSE so that YOU can protect yourself, your family and everyone else.
I believe the path forward is somewhere in the middle. Like driving a car with the foot on the gas and the brake at the same time. We must manage and mitigate health and safety of our people while we open back up our economy and businesses and get our people back to work…SAFELY. Since businesses are now open, remember…YOU still have the freedom to choose. You can choose to shop there or not. You can choose to eat there or not. If you don’t think it’s safe, or you don’t think the location is being socially responsible…DON’T GO. Or, if want to stay home, or avoid crowds, then that is exactly what YOU should do…STAY HOME.
We will get through this …Continue to PRAY for our Country and choose FAITH over FEAR! God Bless!
