Red White & BOOM

The ‘Red White & BOOM’ event, produced by Better Cookeville has grown into one of the largest events in the Southeast United States!. This event has remained 100% free thanks to incredible partnerships which include 25 businesses, along with the City of Cookeville and Putnam County, who donate financially. These generous donations ensure that the fireworks, music, parking, and admission are free.

Money from the 2 governments account for less than 10% of the funds raised. Better Cookeville does not have any paid staff, and 100% of the money donated is reinvested in our community. Most fireworks are produced overseas, and as we all are aware, inflation and shipping costs have increased dramatically the past 2 years. The fireworks show cost increased 14% this year over last year totaling $80,000. Total cost of all activities for 2022 Red White & BOOM totaled $125,000. Estimates are that over 50,000 people come to our community for the Independence Day events, and to experience one of the largest fireworks displays in the Southeast. Proud to say that this event generates Hundreds of Thousands of dollars in tourism revenue, as well as awareness through social media marketing impressions for our business partners that generously support our organization, this event, and our amazing community.
